A Christmas card I received from one of my Woodward cousins, and next-door neighbor, Cullen Myers Dauchy.
I believe it was my second Christmas, when I was fourteen months old. Cullen would have just turned six.

I was surprised and delighted to find it. Thanks to my mom, who kept things.

We moved last year and I had to clean out a lot of things in my mom’s cedar chest. That card was a keeper.

It was an amazing family. A little crazy, but I’ve found that crazy families are fun–and the source of many memories,

Kathy, what a great surprise and early Christmas gift! Wow! I don’t think I have anything left that old. I sincerely hope that you and David have a wonderful Christmas. The last two years, I’ve sent New Year’s cards, and this year it’s because Alice Ann and I have both had the coronadevil, but we’re fully recovered now (no taste or smell yet for me). Anyway, email me your address and I’ll include you on my Christmas Card (New Year’s card) list; I always include a newsletter. Thanks again for sharing that old Christmas card; we won’t tell anyone just how old it is!

I’ll send you my email address. I would love to have your newsletter. We always enjoyed the one your dad sent. I used to buy Christmas cards every year but never managed to send them–par for the course. But I enjoyed choosing them.
I’m so sorry y’all had COVID and am glad you’re recovered. A friend suggested acupuncture might restore taste and smell. I don’t know if it would work, but my first treatment unfroze a shoulder I hadn’t moved except in one direction forever, it seemed. And I didn’t even go for the shoulder.
No, we don’t need to tell anyone how old that card is.
